OPENING TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2026

In 2020, I launched a social enterprise—a coffee company built with purpose, compassion, and a mission to support wounded Veterans. It was never just a business; it was a calling to serve, restore, and uplift those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
My journey began with pallets of roasted coffee beans at a regional Veterans Day event hosted by Costco Wholesale. From there, BraveHeart Mountain Coffee grew quickly: gift boxes appeared on Costco.com, a drive‑thru stand opened, and we became a familiar presence at farmers markets and tradeshows across the Pacific Northwest.
Then came the croissants—whimsical, bold, and unapologetically extravagant. Crafted with fresh fruit, silky creams, and a touch of visual poetry, they began as a simple pairing with coffee and blossomed into something far more meaningful: a ministry of JOY.
As a self‑taught baker, I watched customers return week after week, always asking the same question: “Where’s your storefront?” And in my heart, I knew—it was time to build a space that reflected the love and intention behind the work. Now, after years of testing, refining, and waiting, I’m thrilled to share what’s next: Le Croissant Bar, opening TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2026 at 116 Lake Street, Kirkland, WA.
There is also a deeper layer to this story. In 1974, my very first job as a teenager was picking fresh strawberries in the fields of Skagit Valley. Today—more than 50 years later—I use those very same strawberries from those very same fields in my desserts. It is a full‑circle moment of joy and restoration, honoring the farmers who work tirelessly and celebrating the hands and the land that make this beauty possible.
In this new season of life, I am grateful—for God’s healing of my heart, for renewed purpose, and for the good friends who have walked this journey with me. Cheers to new beginnings!

HONORING MY SISTER
ANNETTE ALVAREZ-PETERS
World‑Renowned Wine Expert & Curator at Le Croissant Bar
With over 30 years in the wine & spirits industry, my sister, Annette Alvarez‑Peters is one of the most influential voices in modern wine. During her 30+year tenure leading the Kirkland Signature wine program at Costco, she guided the development of hundreds of acclaimed wines sourced from the world’s most celebrated regions. As a respected wine maker and global buyer, she has been instrumental in the creation and development of over 500 wines from around the world, shaping the way millions of people experience wine today.
Now retired from Costco Wholesale, Annette continues to share her passion by consulting with wineries and mentoring young entrepreneurial women in the wine industry. I am honored to have the support of my sister as an ongoing curator for Le Croissant Bar, where she helps guide our featured wine selections.
Selections may appear quarterly or every other month—timed to her schedule and the seasons. And from time to time… you never know when she may pay us a visit. When she’s in town, Annette returns to her old stomping grounds here in Kirkland to host intimate wine‑tasting evenings with us.
